The Del City Fire Department has received two new rescue pumpers, paid from with money from a 2011 bond issue.
Nearly two years ago, voters approved a $3 million bond issue to replaces its aging fleet and install new outdoor warning system. The money will buy the fire department two pumper trucks, an aerial pumper truck, and four-wheel drive brush pumpers.
The two new pumper trucks cost nearly $700,000. Firefighters will be trained on the trucks and they should be in service within a week.
The aerial pumper truck is scheduled to be delivered in June.
