Right now, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the hit and run crash.

OHP investigators have interviewed 30-year-old Ryan Shumway, the driver of that boat. He is cooperating with investigators so far. Those investigators processed Shumway's boat for clues.

The victim's family still has unanswered questions.

Ryan Shumway, 30, has come forward as the driver of the boat that crashed into a family's pontoon boat, killing 55-year-old Gary McIninch and injuring several others, including two young girls, on the Fourth of July.

We obtained court records showing Shumway's criminal offenses over the past decade. In 2010, he was arrested for driving under the influence and transporting and open container. Records also show he was convicted of public intoxication and assault on an officer.

But it's unclear what charges Shumway might face in the 4th of July incident. His wife and children were also on board when the crash happened.

A spokeswoman with OHP said that the investigation could be wrapped up in the next couple of days or so. The Pittsburgh County District Attorney will not file charges against Shumway until the investigation is complete and he has a chance to review it.
