Small Earthquake Shakes Near Spencer

Another small earthquake was recorded in central Oklahoma, Tuesday morning.

The 3.0 magnitude quake struck just before 11:30 p.m., four miles north of the town of Spencer, or about 11 miles northeast of the Oklahoma City metro area.

The epicenter of the quake was recorded at a depth of approximately three miles. No damage or injuries have been reported.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
