The Norman Police Department has a new way to alert the public to crime in their area.
Police have partnered with a Colorado software company that analyzes and relays crime information for free.
By logging in to RAIDS Online, residents can view maps and grids showing recent crime in the area.
“You can do lots of different things with it,” Captain Tom Easley said Wednesday afternoon.
Norman is Oklahoma's fourth city to plug into the RAIDS Online network.
Norman resident Marcy Carroll has two young sons and likes the idea.
“And I'm glad the police department is coming together to do that and looking out for the safety of our kids,” she said.
