A 19-year-old Woodward woman died in a crash Saturday afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

Valarie Sanchez was driving eastbound on State Highway 34C when she didn't make a curve and ran off the right side of the road, according to OHP troopers. Sanchez reportedly over-corrected and then rolled two times. She was pinned in the vehicle for more than an hour, troopers said.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, four miles east of Woodward. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to troopers.

The passenger in the vehicle, Dulce Flores, 20, was taken to the hospital and has since been released. She was wearing a seat belt during the crash, troopers said.

OHP cited the cause of the crash as unsafe speed on a curve or turn.
