High Winds Snap Power Poles; Scattered Outages Reported Across OK

Utility companies across the state are reporting scattered power outages due to high winds.

At 4:30 a.m. OG&E reported hundreds in the dark in Yukon, Oklahoma City, Norman, Dewey County and Bryan County.

High winds have snapped power poles and downed utility lines in several neighborhoods. Several poles were broken in the area of Wilshire Boulevard and N. Richland on the north side of Yukon.

Early Tuesday morning, emergency crews were on the scene of power lines down in an alley along Juniper Lane between Lahoma and Chautauqua Avenues near the OU campus in Norman.

Monday night nearly 1,000 PSO customers were without power in Comanche County and the Lawton area due to 60 mph winds. That power has been stored.Power is also restored in Ada. Customers there lost electricity overnight.
