The victim in an overnight shooting at a house party in Stillwater has died from their injuries at a local hospital. 

Police are investigating the shooting that happened at a party in Stillwater. The incident occurred just after midnight on Sunday. Police were called to the 500 block of South West Street because of the incident.

After arriving in scene, officers spoke with several college-aged males and females who were at the location attending a party at the apartment. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Alexander Vierling, was shot in the head.

Initial reports stated that the shooting occurred when one of the party goers was handling a pistol they thought was a toy.

Vierling was life-flighted to a hospital in Oklahoma City.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities ask if anyone has any information concerning this incident call the Stillwater Police Department at (405) 372-4171.
