Chandler Woman's Death Part Of Alleged Murder Plot

An alleged murder plot unravels after a woman is found dead in Chandler.

She was found in November, and the woman's husband has been jailed on the accusation of planning to poison her.

But that was just the beginning of the twisted tale.

It was November 14th when a neighbor contacted the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office after finding Kathleen Meyer dead in an outbuilding next to her home.

She and her husband were going through an ugly divorce, and those who know the couple have always suspected foul play.

“I'm still in shock. I don't think a whole lot about it, but I don't think that she fell off the ladder and killed herself,” said Kathleen's father, Warren Armstrong on November 19th.

Just five days after Warren Armstrong's daughter was found murdered in her outbuilding, Armstrong said he knew his daughter's death wasn't an accident.

“They found her car keys between the car and the building,” said Armstrong.

More than a week before the murder, a woman who worked at Kurt Meyer's home said she found notes.

Investigators believed those notes were a plot to poison someone. Also, a Google map of the couple's property was found.

“He wasn't allowed to come around the property at all, and now all of a sudden, it's his,” said a friend of the family.

Court documents revealed Kathleen had frozen blood on her face along with scuff marks on her shoes, and next to her was a broken light bulb and an overturned ladder.

“She would have never been in that tack room on a ladder, in her best clothes,” said the friend.

Investigators believed the scene was staged to make it appear as if it was an accident.

The day before Kathleen's murder, her son said she told him "the only way she was going to get out of the divorce was for Kurt to kill her."

Documents also showed Kurt admitted to being with a prostitute just before the murder. That prostitute claimed Kurt may have drugged her.

So far, it's still unclear how Kathleen died.

Kurt is charged with first-degree murder.
