An Oklahoma City taxi driver was arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a female customer Thursday night.
According to police, at about 10 p.m. a woman called officers to report that a cab driver for Thunder Cab had just tried to rape her.
The victim told police that she was at a bar on N.W. 39th Street when she called for a cab to take her home. However, when the taxi took her to her apartment complex, the victim said the driver climbed into the back seat, sat next to her and kissed her.
The victim said she told the driver to stop and pushed him off of her. That's when the driver became more aggressive. He began kissing her again and touching her inappropriately.
The victim told police that she punched the driver in the face. That's when he got out of the vehicle, and she paid him for the cab ride.
According to police, before the victim left, the suspect handed her a yellow card with his name and phone number on it. He told the victim to call him if she ever wanted “more sex.”
The victim kept the card and gave it to police. Officer called Thunder Cab and located the driver, later identified as 35-year-old MD Shahinur Reza, at his home in the 4300 block of N. Portland Ave. Police said Reza matched the descriptions of the suspect, and the victim also positively identified Reza as the taxi driver who assaulted her.
Reza denied the allegations. But police said he changed his story several times when they questioned him about the incident.
Reza was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a sexual battery complaint. He is being held on $5,000 bond.
