A man was arrested after leading Oklahoma City police officers on a high-speed chase late Wednesday night.
According to police, officers tried to pull over a pickup truck for an unknown reason at N.E. 23rd and Interstate 235. The truck initially stopped and two people got out. However, it then took off heading south, exceeding speeds of 110 mph at times.
Police said the chase continued onto the side roads along I-35 and I-40. The suspect vehicle hit several stop sticks near S.E. 79th and Santa Fe. That’s when the driver jumped out and tried to run away.
Officers chased the suspect on foot. He was eventually taken into custody behind Steve’s Wholesale.
The driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out for any injuries. Police have not identified him a this time.
