Oklahoma State cornerback Kevin Peterson has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl, the organization announced today.

Peterson, formerly a Wagoner Bulldog, was one of 15 national semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award. He is a four-year letterwinner and was voted a 2015 team captain by his teammates. His 35 career starts mark the most of any player on the Cowboys’ roster, including 10 starts this season, all 13 games as a junior and 11 as a sophomore.

The first team All-Big 12 selection was regularly put on an island with the opposing team’s top receiver this season. Peterson was a central figure in helping OSU limit Baylor’s Corey Coleman, TCU’s Josh Doctson and Oklahoma’s Sterling Shepard all under 100 receiving yards.

Peterson also earned OSU’s outstanding defensive player award and was OSU’s defensive player of the game against Texas with five tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss as he helped the Cowboys limit Texas to 48 yards in the second half on 34 snaps.

The Reese's Senior Bowl invites the top 110 seniors and fourth-year junior graduates to participate in its practices, interview sessions and game. The Reese's Senior Bowl will kick off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
