One Killed In Crash Involving Van, Tanker On Turner Turnpike

One person was killed in a crash involving a van and a tanker on the Turner Turnpike in Oklahoma City, Monday morning.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, a van crashed into the back of a tanker in the westbound lanes of Turner Turnpike near Midwest Blvd. Three people had to be extricated from the van. One person was killed. Two others were transported to the hospital. They are said to be in stable condition.

All westbound lanes of the turnpike were shut down in the area, causing traffic to back up. 

The tanker was completely empty, fire officials said. There were no hazardous materials, and there was no fire.
