The American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma (ACLU) and a group of citizens have filed a lawsuit against the City of Oklahoma City over its panhandling ordinance.
The City has a law that prevents panhandling on medians. They just recently passed this law. The group said it doesn’t just prevent panhandling, but it prevents anyone from being on city medians and that is unconstitutional, which is the basis of their federal lawsuit.
We spoke with the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit, who sells Curbside Chronicle magazine. He said the law has drastically hurt his business.
