The search for a 90 pound missing turtle in southern Logan County has been going on for more than a week.
Gracie is a 90 pound African Turtle.
Kerry Billington and his wife have owned the giant tortoise for the past 20 years.
Billington said storms two Sundays ago scared Gracie out of her pen.
A local man tells News 9 he saw another man lift the giant turtle into the back of his distinctive Ford pickup the same afternoon Gracie went missing, about a mile south of Billington’s home.
Logan County deputies questioned one of Billington’s neighbors James Stout about the turtle Tuesday afternoon.
Stout drives same color pickup truck the witness described, and he has a goatee mustache like the witness described, but he said it wasn’t him.
“I know nothing about this turtle. I sat at home that day all day long. I can’t even think who I would have loaned my truck to. I didn’t take this turtle,” Stout said.
Billington said Gracie needs special care, and he is concerned for her well-being.
