Our brand new NextGen Live radar is hands down the fastest dual pol weather radar in Oklahoma. It can detect any threat Mother Nature dishes out -- without a second to lose.

"You're going to be able to run this radar up to four times a minute," said Bob Dreisewerd, Baron Chief Development Officer.

It's faster than any other television radar and all the National Weather Service radars in the country.

"Our goal is to provide you with the tools to be able to detect and track everything with certainty," said Dreisewerd.

We traveled to Huntsville, Alabama, where engineers spent the last year building the fastest, most powerful dual pol radar in the world. Now, it's here and ready to track every threat, from flooding rains and snow to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

"You've got the highest resolution, you've got the best signal coming back to where you're really going to be able to pick up where those threats are," said Steve Bray, Baron Meteorologist.

The dual pol radar data coming from the National Weather Service, which all other television stations use, can be delayed up to 10 to 12 minutes. That's time that you and your family can't afford.

"You're talking about seconds to deal with at times, and the faster you can get that information to them, the better off they are," said Bray.

Our NextGen Live shows us what's happening now. It's instant, with no delay.

"That's what we're after, to be able to have that kind of clarity for the audience immediately that this is where the danger is, this is what's coming your way," said Bray.
