Residents Say Raw Sewage Leaking Into N. OKC Apartments

Residents at a metro apartment complex say they have raw sewage, including human feces backing up into their apartments.

The residents live at the MacArthur Crossing Apartments located at 727 North MacArthur Boulevard in Oklahoma City. One woman told News 9 it’s been going on for over a year, and she’s had the sewage come into her apartment at least 9 or 10 times within the last month.

Denetra Marmolejos started documenting on video every time the raw sewage backs up into her apartment. She said the sewage backs up her toilet, her tub and comes through the floors and walls.

Marmolejos’ next door neighbor said she has the same problem.

The sewage doesn't go back down until maintenance snakes the line.

Marmolejos said the situation is even more difficult because she has three kids, including two boys who have autism.

“One of them is being bullied at school. Can you imagine, can’t even take a shower? Have to go to school stinky and you already got issues going on,” said Marmolejos.

The apartment manager did not want to go on camera, but told News 9 they have offered to move Denetra to another unit or to let her out of her lease. And they must have the apartment professionally cleaned.
