Police say the owner of the Oklahoma Outlaws semi pro football team and his wife bilked and exploited an 86-year-old Enid widow out of $1.5 million over the past 16 months.

Enid Police say Norman Mullen’s wife Kim was hired by the victim back in 2017 to regularly clean the victim’s house.

The Mullens told the woman that a Texas man was in desperate need of medical care, according to police.

“She would take out cash in the tune of ten, fifteen, twenty thousand dollars at a time,” said Enid Police Detective Sgt. Nick John. “She would give it to our suspects.  They were supposed to take it down there.  When the money ran out for our victim, she would then start giving up jewelry or items, or possessions of hers, that they then would pawn at pawn shops around Enid and Oklahoma City.”

Real estate broker Eli Berry says he’d been in negotiations to sell Norman Mullen a $2-million property in west Enid, he says Mullen had told him he planned to turn it into a football stadium.

“It really kind of blew my mind,” said Berry. “It’s a rough deal, because when you get local people taking advantage of local people, it really makes me mad.”

The Mullens are in the Garfield County jail, each on $1 million bail.
