Affair Of The Heart Gets New Logo, Tagline
In one month, approximately 800 vendors from more than 25 states will begin moving into State Fair Park where they will set up shop for the next three days of An Affair of the Heart, a tradition that has been 33 years in the making. This year’s fall show happens Oct. 19-21.
A new logo and tagline, "Find something you love," have been added this year.
“What started as a small, one-day event put together by eight women over 30 years ago has amassed into a sophisticated business with a roster of more than 1,400 vendors and over 50,000 visitors who frequent our Oklahoma shows throughout the year,” said Eleanor Blakeman, founding partner. “It was time to update and unite our brand across all our markets and reflect the sophisticated business we’ve become while still reflecting the heart of who we are.
“The tag line represents the various elements about the show that we believe are responsible for bringing shoppers back year after year. It’s not just about the wonderful and unique items they can find at the show, it’s also about spending time with friends and family and even finding inspiration to create something on their own.”
An Affair of the Heart is a handmade, boutiques and gourmet market. It is now the largest and longest running show of its kind in the state, and last year was named the #1 contemporary craft show in the country for the 2016 October show by the industry’s leading publication, Sunshine Artist magazine.
The 33rd year in Oklahoma City will feature nearly 1,300 booths of handmade, boutiques and gourmet food items including everything from jewelry and up-cycled furniture to clothing, home décor, handcrafted lotions and soaps and much more. Vendors will come from more than 25 states to sell their goods over three days.
“The popularity of sites like Pinterest and Etsy have created a renewed interest in locally-made and unique goods,” said Blakeman. “Shows like An Affair of the Heart offer shoppers a way to view these goods in person while still supporting local and regional talent. We’re also proud to use our events to support small businesses.”
Show times are Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the State Fair Park. Admission is $10, and each ticket is good for all three days. Kids 12 and under get in free. For more information or to purchase tickets online visit aaoth.com.
