Family Devastated After Woman Accused Of Cemetery Theft
PRAGUE, Oklahoma - The aunt of an Okfuskee woman accused of stealing from graves at large cemetery in Prague says she’s just as disgusted as everybody else.
Towana Ford says she’s 39-year-old Takisha Taber’s aunt.
Prague’s police chief said surveillance cameras last week recorded Taber and a young girl stealing items from graves.
Ford herself works a local prison, and her husband is a paramedic.
She said the whole family is devastated and embarrassed.
“She’s always taken from people, and she has not remorse. She doesn’t care about anybody’s feelings. She doesn’t care,” said Ford.
Police said Taber had decorated her home with items she had stolen from the cemetery.
