The family of 30-year old Roy Travis Wetherell says their hearts are filled with grief and anger following a Tuesday auto-pedestrian wreck in Moore.

Wetherall was walking near 4th and Telephone when police say he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Wetherall was taken to the hospital, but passed Wednesday morning.

Family says they didn’t make it to OU Medical Center in time.

“He was in the hospital room. They were keeping his body alive because he was an organ donor. He had been dead since 7:48 that morning. We didn't get to see him, or know about it until noon,” says Lori Mears, Travis’ older sister. “It feels like I am in my worst nightmare.”

It wasn’t until yesterday afternoon that police say they caught their suspect.

Aaron Parker Brown was behind the wheel, according to police, and they say he had a passenger in the vehicle with him.

A witness recorded footage of the suspect’s vehicle driving erratically, and officers say Brown’s car was swaying across the roadway before the crash.

Brown has been booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center and turned 29 Friday.

The passenger in the car has not been arrested yet.

“I am glad that they are caught. I'm sorry that you are the one that had to be behind the wheel, that you did this not to yourself, and to me and my family,” says Mears.

Aaron Brown has multiple drug charges in Cleveland and Oklahoma counties.

In January of this year, he was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. But months went by, and he never appeared for arraignment.

Family says Travis had his own struggles, but no one deserves to be killed and left for dead.

He was forced to leave behind two baby boys according to his sister.

After officers told Mears how her brother was killed, she says she knew that she had to be the one to tell her mother what happened.

“She fell over into my lap, crying and saying not my baby boy, saying please lord take me with him,” Mears says.

The family says they have no money to pay a funeral. Because Travis was homeless, he didn’t have any money either.

They have set-up a gofundme account to help pay for his final expenses.
