Charges Filed Against OK Woman With More Than 100 Dogs In Home

Prosecutors filed charges against a woman after deputies found over 100 dogs in her home.

Marjorie Satterfield has been charged with three counts of cruelty to animals and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses.

In February 2018, Tulsa County deputies served search warrants to Satterfield’s Skiatook home and her business, Glad Wags, at Fontana Shopping Center.

When deputies served a search warrant at the business, they say no dogs were found.  They were all at her home, instead.

Deputies said they counted 106 dogs, seven cats, four chickens, and six birds in the home.

The arrest report says the house and garage were stacked with plastic dog crates that were covered in filth and feces and without water.

The report says the bird cages were full of roaches and what appeared to be bed bugs.

Satterfield is not currently in custody and says she plans to plead not guilty to the animal cruelty charges.

Her employees say they are sticking with their original argument that Satterfield wasn’t doing anything wrong to the animals that were taken from her home in February.

“If there had been any animals who had been abused or misfed or not let out, I would’ve called the law day one,” said employee Tammie Pollock.  “When you come in the morning and they were in the middle of doing chores, things are a mess.”

“With just us working here, we don’t have time to go in and superclean, but we do what we can,” stated employee Beth Rainbolt.

Another of Satterfield’s employees says classes will continue at Glad Wags, they just had to cancel the next class because Satterfield’s landlord is evicting her.

They say their focus now is fighting these charges and getting some of those dogs back to their homes.

“We are just going forward trying to help the owners get their dogs back,” said Rainbolt.  “Some of the dogs have been shipped to Michigan that had owners’ tags on them.”

If convicted, each count of animal cruelty could come with a sentence of up to five years in prison.
