Tulsa Police ID Man Found Shot To Death In Car With Daughter In Back Seat
TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa police identified the victim in Tulsa's 69th homicide of the year. Lavell Richardson was shot to death in a car Thursday with his 2-year-old child still inside, authorities said. She was not harmed.
Police said Richardson was found in the 5700 block of North Garrison around 10 a.m. after neighbors heard shots fired. The toddler was in the back seat, police said.
According to his Facebook page, the 27-year-old man went to McLain High School.
Authorities continue to search for Richardson's killer.
His death puts the city about a month ahead of 2016's record-setting homicide numbers. Retired Tulsa Homicide Sergeant Mike Huff said TPD also has one of the highest rates of solved homicides in the country.
A prayer vigil is planned for the Tulsa community at 3 p.m. on October 28 at Berry Park, 5002 North Wheeling.
