The Social Security Administration is rethinking its latest security log-in feature because it's too high tech for some senior citizens.

Cyber security experts say multifactor authentication is great way to protect your identity but the "text code" option just doesn't work for everyone.

In addition to a log-in and password, the government implemented a new level of safety for retirees to log into their accounts.

Codes were sent via text message but as it was quickly pointed out, not all seniors have a text-enabled cell phone.

While many are applauding the agency for attempting to increase security, the National Institute of Standards and Technology recently recommended moving away from using texts because they can be intercepted.

The SSA says it is developing an "alternative authentication option."
