The Okarche Police Department is hoping people open their hearts for a toddler who was born with only half a heart.

You would never know it if you saw her that something is wrong,” said Okarche Police Lt. Matt Blackwood about his 18-month-old daughter.

Reagan suffers from a severe heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).

“She is the feistiest, smartest and sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” said Blackwood.

Being at Reagan's side through surgeries in Dallas and treatments in Oklahoma City has added up financially and mentally.

“Every aspect of life changes, everything,” said Blackwood.

“It’s tough on us because we see what he’s going through,” said Okarche Police Chief Bob Gamble.

That's why Blackwood’s fellow Okarche officers ride with stickers that show Reagan’s initials, R.J.B., on patrol cars.

Officers have just set up a Go Fund Me Page called “Walk the beat with Reagan”.

Blackwood also provides his fellow officers with a daily update and is thankful for the support.

“I work for the best Police Department in Oklahoma,” said Blackwood.
