A 16-year-old driver has died at the hospital after crashing his car near Dickson, Oklahoma, Thursday afternoon.
It happened just after 4 p.m. on a county road two miles south of Dickson. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), a 16-year-old Ardmore boy was driving westbound on the county road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car then ran off the roadway to the right and rolled, throwing the driver out of the vehicle.
The driver was flown by Eagle-Med to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at about 8:30 a.m. Friday.
A 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle was also transported to the hospital. He was treated and released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
