Solicitors could soon be losing time. Oklahoma City leaders will decide whether to cut the hours they are allowed to go door-to-door.

Right now, solicitors can get a city permit that allows them to door knock from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

OKC Councilman James Greiner is trying to cut that back until 7 p.m.

There needs to be a certain time set that says, okay, this is too late to be knocking on people’s doors,” said Councilman Greiner.

Greiner said Tulsa’s hours for soliciting are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The councilman said neighbors in his ward are upset over the late door knocks.

Greiner told News 9, a proposed ordinance to cut hours for solicitors should be introduced at the next city council meeting.
