A young Donald Trump fan in the metro hopes a Facebook post will pave the way for a picture with the candidate at the state fair.
The post is getting a lot of attention.
12-year-old Quaid Morgan said Friday is his chance to get a selfie with Trump.
It's not a typical wish for a 12-year-old, but Trump is capturing the hearts of young Republicans; extremely young.
“I don’t really have a plan. I’m just hoping I can grab his attention,” said Trump fan Quaid Morgan.
Like a kid did back in July. That young boy in Scotland brazenly walked up to Trump asking to take a selfie.
“Normally, I’m not really a huge fan of selfies. I don’t really take them a lot,” Morgan said.
But now, Morgan, a budding Trump super fan, is on a mission.
“I just automatically thought, wouldn’t that be funny if I got a picture with him?” Morgan said. “And so I just thought maybe I could try and take a selfie with him at the fair. Didn’t really think it would happen.”
Wednesday morning, his mother posted a pic of Quaid Morgan holding a poster asking for help to get that selfie with the presidential hopeful.
“I think it’s crazy that it just kind of blew up over a few hours, I didn’t know the power of social media would do that, so, it’s a little crazy,” Morgan said.
“I had not planned on going to the fair on Friday, but apparently, we probably will be now,” said Quaid’s dad Lance Morgan.
Quaid's dad said this is all a surprise to him.
“Hopefully he’ll have a good shot at attracting some attention,” Lance Morgan said.
“I like him. I think we have a lot in common,” Quaid Morgan said.
The Republican front-runner is set to speak at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Bandshell Stage.
