A man was arrested after an Oklahoma County deputy found meth and Ecstasy in his car during a traffic stop in Oklahoma City, early Wednesday morning.

According to police, at about 1:45 a.m., a deputy was on I-40 near Peebly Road when he ran a tag on a van, and information showed the tag had the wrong expiration date. The deputy stopped the driver, 27-year-old Christopher Polk, and spoke with him.

Initially, authorities said Polk attempted to mislead the deputy and gave the wrong name and date of birth. Polk eventually admitted to the lie, and gave his correct name.

The deputy discovered that Polk's driver's license was suspended and that he didn't have insurance. A state decal on Polk's van reportedly belonged on another vehicle.

Polk admitted to the deputy that he had methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the van. The deputy found two glass smoking pipes, a pill believed to be MDMA (Ecstasy), meth, and a cutting agent used for meth production.

Polk's bond has not yet been established. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on two counts of possession of drugs, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of an officer, affixing an improper tag, driving under suspension, and no insurance.
