Oklahoma State got back in the win column Thursday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium as the 15th-ranked Cowboys cruised to a 15-7 win over Abilene Christian.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for coach Josh Holliday's club, which improved to 12-5.

Freshman Garrett Williams improved to 2-0 after not allowing an earned run in five innings, while Donnie Walton was 4-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Tanner Krietemeier and Zach Fish each collected a home run and three RBIs for the Cowboys, who had 14 hits in the contest.

"We needed this one, and we got it," Holliday said. "It was a good response to come off a tough streak of games with a win. (Abilene Christian) has played a lot of Big 12 baseball teams already and played them close so I thought we did a good job. It definitely gets the momentum turned around for us as a team."

The Cowboys were in control throughout, scoring multiple runs in five of the first six innings.

In its first at bat, OSU took a 2-0 lead, getting a sacrifice fly from Fish and an RBI single from Gage Green, and the Cowboys added four more in the second. In that inning, Walton got things started with an RBI single on a hit-and-run play before Krietemeier provided the big blow with his fifth homer of the season, a three-run blast to left-center field.

OSU tallied two runs in the third and added three more in the fourth, with Fish providing two of those with his third round tripper of the year.

The Cowboys' final runs came in the sixth when they rallied for four runs on four hits. Walton, Conor Costello and Ryan Sluder each had RBI hits in the inning, while Saulyer Saxon drove in a run with a groundout.

Williams' five innings of work saw the southpaw scatter six hits and strike out four. The lone run he allowed came in his final inning of work.

ACU (7-8) scored six of its runs in the final three innings, including a four-run rally in the ninth.

The Cowboys return to action Friday when they host Texas-Pan American in the first of a three-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
