Person Of Interest In Tulsa Murder Arrested In Bartlesville

Tulsa Police say a person of interest in the murder of Brad Lyles was arrested in Bartlesville on unrelated charges. Keenan Sean Davis, 18, was taken to the Washington County Jail Monday after a K9 officer found him hiding in someone's backyard.

Lyles was shot and killed outside a Tulsa apartment where he was visiting family on July 14, 2013. Police had been looking for Davis since July 19, when he was identified as a person of interest in the death.

Bartlesville police say Davis is a suspect in two early morning burglaries in the 4300 block of SE Fleetwood. Both homes were occupied at the time of the crimes.

A neighbor called police after witnessing a man trying to break into a garage and then running to some woods nearby, according to Captain Jay Hastings of the Bartlesville Police Department.

Bartlesville police searched the area with a K9 unit, and Davis was found hiding in a backyard not far from Eastland Shopping Center. Witnesses to the burglaries identified him as the man they saw trying to break into the homes.

Tulsa Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said Bartlesville police contacted them Monday to say Davis had been arrested on two counts of first degree burglary. He was using an alias, Keenan Burkhalter.

Davis was not arrested in relation to Lyles' murder, the homicide sergeant said.

Walker said they have interviewed Davis in regard to the shooting death. The investigation into that death, Tulsa's 38th homicide for 2013, is ongoing.
