9-Year-Old Girl Killed In Moore Tornado Laid To Rest
MOORE, Oklahoma -
A 9-year-old girl, who was killed as a massive tornado swept across her school in Moore, has been laid to rest on Monday.
Sydney Angle, a student at the Plaza Towers Elementary School, was killed when an EF-5 tornado hit Moore on May 20.
Funeral services for Angle took place at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Moore.
Angle played softball for the last four years. Her parents say she loved spending time with her friends and listening to music.
Angle was lovingly referred to as "a pickle" by her softball coach Landon McNeill, who was with the girl's parents as they waited at a church for news about their daughter.
Angle's family also lost their home in the storm. However, her teammates collected money for her family in their time of need. They raised more than $37,000 and Direct TV has agreed to match $20,000.
Twenty-four people were killed and hundreds were injured as the massive tornado tore through the Moore area. About 12,000 homes were affected.
