Police arrested a man for trafficking methamphetamine Wednesday night in southeast Oklahoma City. Miguel Angel Alvarez, 33, was arrested on several charges, including trafficking CDS and possession of drug proceeds.

According to police, officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the intersection of S.E. 15th Street and High, when they noticed the vehicle's rear tag light was not working. However, the car did not stop, but continued east on S.E. 15th.

Police say the driver threw a baggie out of the vehicle at the intersection of S.E. 15th and Stonewall. One officer stopped and picked up the baggie, which contained what appeared to be crystal meth.

The suspect's vehicle eventually stopped in the 100 block of Stonewall. Officers discovered three more baggies of crystal meth behind the glove box in the car, and took the driver, later identified as Alvarez, into custody.

According to police, officers found a total of 313.3 grams of meth. They also found $750 in cash in Alvarez's pocket. Police believe that the money was obtained through the sale of narcotics.

Along with the meth and cash, police also found a glass pipe containing what appeared to be marijuana residue, and a box of 32 bullets. Officers say Alvarez did not have a valid state driver's license either.

Alvarez was then transported to the Oklahoma County Jail. Police say Alvarez was a South Side Loco, and had gang-affiliated tattoos on both of his hands.
