Storms Headed For Oklahoma
A strong upper-level storm will bring an opportunity for much needed rain across Oklahoma this evening and tonight. A few strong to severe thunderstorms will also be possible with this line before 9pm in western portions of the state with damaging winds the main threat. Despite the strength of the upper-level jet stream, moisture is lacking with this particular storm system so widespread severe weather is unlikely.
As far as rainfall totals are concerned, it appears that most areas will receive between ¼ and ½ and inch. Isolated locations across northern parts of the state could receive a little bit more with up to 1 inch possible.
Certainly this is not a drought buster by any stretch of the imagination. However, this time of year is normally the driest on average so we need to enjoy every drop.
