Oklahoma City police arrested a man who pretended to be a utility worker with Oklahoma Natural Gas and went into people's homes.

On July 3, an officer responded to the call of a burglary at a home in the 8300 block of N.W. 77th Street. The victim said he saw a man standing in the middle of his living room when he went back to his home.

The suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Eugene Randall Dunn, claimed to be a meter reader for ONG and told the victim he came to check the meters at the home. When the victim confronted him, he walked out of the home and walked to a neighbor's house, according to the police report. A short time later, the suspect got into a white and red pickup truck and left the scene.

According to the police report, on June 27, officers responded to a similar call at a home in the 4200 block of Cherry Hill Lane. The suspect found inside the home was also claiming to be an ONG worker. Police say the suspect and vehicle descriptions in both incidents match.

The victim in this case got the suspect's vehicle's tag number, and officers used it to track Dunn down.

Dunn was then arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on two counts of second degree burglary. He claimed he did not steal anything from the homes.
