The Oklahoma City RedHawks' bats stayed sizzling Thursday night, and it's a good thing they did. OKC needed every run in a nail-biting 9-8 victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers.
Oklahoma City has now scored 54 runs during its current five-game winning streak.
Landon Powell, Brad Snyder and Jimmy Paredes all homered for the RedHawks, who pounded out 15 hits total.
Armando Galarraga improved his record to 3-2 on the season, allowing five earned runs in seven innings.
The RedHawks led 9-5 going into the bottom of the ninth, but Omaha wouldn't quit. After a sacrifice fly cut the lead to 9-6, Johnny Giavotella crushed a two-run homer to make it a one-run game before Juan Abreau could finally shut the door for Oklahoma City.
The RedHawks looks for the four-game series sweep of Omaha tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
