STILLWATER, Oklahoma - The Ohio State Buckeyes handed Oklahoma State its fourth home loss of the season in a 4-0 shutout of the Cowboys Wednesday night in Stillwater.

The loss snapped OSU's streak of 10-straight wins on its home field, a streak that dated back to March 18.

Kyle Ottoson got the start for the Cowboys on the mound, but a handful of walks quickly loaded the bases for Ohio State and forced OSU to call the bullpen early in the second bringing in lefty Kenton Bevacuqa.

Even with the pitching change, Ohio State's Kirby Pellant reached on a fielders choice and an Oklahoma State error plated a second run. Later a bunt dingle plated a third run for the Buckeyes who took an early 3-0 lead midway through the second.

The Cowboys threatened in the sixth with two on an two out, but Ohio State brought in Andrew Armstrong to replace Trace Dempsey. Armstrong finally sat down OSU's Jared Womack to end the threat, but the Cowboys left two runners stranded and had yet to score heading into the seventh.

Ohio State started the bottom of the frame with a double by Greg Solomon. Three batters later, Solomon scored off a fly-out by Josh Dezse for a score of 4-0.

OSU managed just three hits in the contest, all of them singles, with Robbie Rea going 2-for-3 at the plate. Hunter Bailey had the Cowboys' other hit.

Ottoson takes the loss for OSU and falls to 4-7 on the year after dealing just 1.1 innings. He allowed three runs, two of them earned, despite Ohio State failing to get a hit against him.

The Cowboys (29-19) return to action Friday at 6:30 p.m. in a three-game series against Alcorn State in Stillwater.
