Security Guard Rescues Kids From OKC Fire
OKLAHOMA CITY - A security guard is credited with helping five children escape a fire at an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City.
The fire started around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at the North Village Apartments near Hefner and Western. The fire spread to three apartments. Five children were staying inside the apartment where the blaze started, and a security guard helped them escape.
The fire displaced three families, including 12 children. All escaped unharmed. The American Red Cross is helping them find a temporary place to stay.
The security guard who rescued the children was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. He's expected to be okay.
