OKLAHOMA CITY -- As the season looms closer, teams are finally getting a chance to face off against a different team, with the Putnam City Pirates hosting the Southmoore Sabercats Friday.

Casey Curtis picked up where he left off a season ago - rushing for more nearly 1,700 yards and 21 scores - and broke off a long touchdown run against the Pirates' defense.

However, Southmoore responded with a long touchdown pass from Tre Edwards to Jonathan Martin for the score.

The Sabercats will officially open the 2011 season with a Sept. 1 game against Edmond North, while Putnam City will host rival PC North Sept. 2.
