OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had to stop traffic on Interstate 235 early Thursday morning while crews cut down dangerous icicles hanging from an Oklahoma City bridge.

A water main break sent water flowing down the 13th Street bridge that crosses I-235. That water soon turned to ice and formed icicles over the interstate below, endangering drivers.

OHP stopped traffic southbound while firefighters removed the icicles. The icicles were cleared and the lanes reopened to traffic by 6:30 a.m.
