Grassfire Sparks in Edmond

EDMOND, Oklahoma – Fire crews battled a large grassfire in Edmond Saturday night.

The fire started on Kelly Avenue near Coffee Creek Road and spread nearly one mile to Sorghum Mill Road.

It took fire crews about an hour to knock down the fire because they were also battling the heat.

No injuries were reported.

Fire fighters are expecting more grass fires than normal because the amount of rain Oklahoma had earlier this year is making for quite a bit of vegetation.
