Light Snow Possible in State, Power Outages Remain

Some places in the southern part of Oklahoma are starting to get their power back six days after a major winter storm hit, but there are still thousands of Oklahomans who are still in the dark.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Scattered rainfall, with a chance for light snow, is forecast across Oklahoma for the end of the week.

The National Weather Service said Wednesday night would remain cloudy with occasional rain and lows in the 30s to near 40 degrees.

Cloudy skies are to continue Thursday with rain, possibly mixed with light snow, and highs from the mid 30s to mid 40s.

The chance for light rain and light snow continues into Friday with afternoon highs returning to the 30s and 40s while overnight lows are to fall into the 30s statewide.

POWER OUTAGES

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission reports 46,468 homes and businesses are without electric service due to the winter storm, which includes the following.

PSO reports 11,965 customers without power including those in:

Chickasha 5,262

Duncan 3

Hobart 2,352

Lawton 4,089

Tipton 259

The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority reports 11,352 customers without power in:

Lexington 20

Purcell 115

Altus 5,580

Eldorado 283

Olustee 316

Comanche 100

Duncan 2,000

Marlow 2,325

Granite 613

The Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC) reports 23,151 customers without power in:

Caddo Electric, Binger: 4,612

Canadian Valley Electric, Seminole: 1,645

Cotton Electric, Walters: 6,702

Harmon Electric Association, Hollis: 2,750

Kiwash Electric, Cordell: 2,475

Northfork Electric, Sayre: 250

Oklahoma Electric, Norman: 218

People's Electric, Ada: 199

Rural Electric, Lindsay: 2,800

SW Rural Electric, Tipton: 1,500

OG&E reports power has been restored to all structures that can safely receive electric service.
