Lindsay Residents Remain Without Power after 5 Days

Residents of Lindsay are on their fifth day without power after the recent snow storm left many across Oklahoma in the dark.

LINDSAY, Oklahoma -- Residents of Lindsay are on their fifth day without power after the recent snow storm left many across Oklahoma in the dark.

Some residents are staying in their homes and others are staying at a shelter set up at Calvary Baptist Church. The church is also without power but providing meals and beds for those without power.

POWER OUTAGES:

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission reports 70,899 homes and businesses are without electric service due to the winter storm, which includes the following:

PSO reports 20,356 customers without power including those in:

Chickasha 5,512
Clinton 5
Duncan 121
Hobart 4,290
Lawton 8,463
Tipton 1,954
Tulsa 24
Weatherford 13 

The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority reports 14,916 customers without power in:

Lexington 300
Purcell 300
Altus 9300
Eldorado 283
Olustee 316
Duncan 1000
Marlow 2325
Granite 613
Manitou 209
Mangum 270

City of Mangum is still on Municipal Generation. 

The Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC) reports 34,428 customers without power in:

Caddo Electric, Binger: 6,930
Canadian Valley Electric, Seminole: 3,147
Cotton Electric, Walters: 8,644
Harmon Electric Association, Hollis: 3,303
Kiwash Electric, Cordell: 3,000
Northfork Electric, Sayre: 600
Oklahoma Electric, Norman: 667
People's Electric, Ada: 1,437
Rural Electric, Lindsay: 3,200
SW Rural Electric, Tipton: 3,500

OG&E reports 1,200 customers are without service.

There are 2,500 people who remain in local shelters and about 4,405 were served meals on Monday. The following 37 shelters and feeding centers remain open:
