This holiday season, some lucky children are receiving personalized text messages from none other than Santa Claus! A website called textsanta.net is giving parents an opportunity to sign up their child to receive up to 3 text messages from Santa Claus for a total of $5.49.  For every child that is signed up, the website will donate $1 to March of Dimes.

Yet, the website hasn't escaped criticism. Some parents say Christmas should be about tradition and not the latest hi-tech craze.  However, the website's creators say nearly half of America's 20 million tweens, ages 8 to 12, have mobile phones and use them often to text message.

Website critics are also concerned that children will have their personal information given out. The text Santa program says a child's personal information will not be released but that "elves in Santa's shredding department" will personally destroy it.

What are Oklahomans saying about this whole hi-tech Santa idea? A new forum on Oklahoma's own 918moms.com has parents debating the Santa text program.

This isn't the first time traditionalists have gotten upset about technological changes surrounding Christmas. In the past, some argued against playing Christmas music on phonographs and insisted the proper way to listen was only from door to door carolers.

Merry Text-mas!
