OKLAHOMA CITY -- Larry Jones, the founder of Oklahoma City-based Feed The Children, has been fired.

According to a news released issued to NEWS 9, the board of directors of Feed The Children announced Friday that Larry Jones’ employment and office as president has been terminated effective immediately.

Travis Arnold, executive vice president and chief operating officer, has been named as interim president of Feed The Children. The board of directors will form a search committee to study and implement procedures to fill the position on a permanent basis.

A spokesman for the organization declined further comment.

Founded in 1979, Feed the Children is ranked as one of the 10 largest international charities in the United States, based on private, non-government support.
