House Robbed Six Times in Past 2 Months

RUSH SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- A house near Rush Springs has had six break-in burglaries since March.

William and Billie Large are watching it for a family member who's storing his belongings in the house prior to moving from California.

Burglars have made off with an estimated $15,000 of personal property, and the Larges have had to take extraordinary measures.

"March 19 was broken into, burglarized the house and storage container that is in the background container. A lot of items were taken and a lot of things were staged in his pickup. They stole his pickup also," William Large said.

The burglars even managed to break into the locked cargo carrier.

"He had a spray rig. He had battery chargers, a nice generator, big one and air compressors too," William said.

Even a security system couldn't keep the robbers out, so the Larges went a step further.

"At one point my husband and I stayed here for six nights," Billie Large said.

William and Billie Large are keeping a close eye on the house these days. Since the burglars stole firearms and ammunition from the house, the Larges fear the next break-in could turn violent.

Other break-ins and burglaries have been reported in the area, but authorities have made no arrests yet.
