Wildfires in Norman have destroyed half of the homes on a street near Lake Thunderbird. The fires began in a heavily wooded area and tore through the neighborhood.

One home was spared with only a broken window, despite being surrounded by destruction. The residents are thankful for their property being spared, but also note that there is nothing left to burn in their area.

The Red Cross and neighbors are collecting donations for fire victims, including water, snacks, and hygiene products at a station on Spencer Circle.

Red Cross shelters are open in Norman, Luther, Stillwater, and Shawnee, offering food, water, health services, and disaster relief resources.
