Sheriff Mike Booth in Pottawatomie County confirmed that a body was found covered in a large drainage culvert that runs under Hamilton Road.

The sheriff has confirmed that the area south of Oklahoma Highway 59B and Hamilton Road is closed off due to a body being found wrapped in carpet and that detectives are investigating.

The sheriff said that the body could be connected to the disappearance of Makayla Fay Meave-Byers. According to the Facebook post by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office, she was last seen on September 15.

The post also gives information on when she was last seen:

She allegedly left voluntarily in a white Chevy extended cab pickup with tinted windows.
The driver was a tall male balding with a dark-colored beard.

The police said there is no information available on the body at this time, but they are investigating carefully so as to not disturb evidence.
