Still in the thick of this heat wave! On this first day of August, highs climb back up in the triple digits.
Dangerous heat continues for the next 5 days. A cold front will bring some relief this weekend.
The north winds take hold on Sunday. As the Jetstream pattern shifts, the heat dome will push to the southeast of Oklahoma.
This will allow storm systems to move back over the Southern Plains. This means rain and storm chances return for several days.
With the stronger jetstream winds, there will be a chance for the storms to be severe at times.
