Death row prisoner Richard Glossip is set to be executed in less than two weeks, but efforts to delay his sentence continue.

Broken Arrow State Representative Kevin McDugle is one of the lawmakers who has been fighting to save Richard Glossip's life for years.

Glossip is on death row for the murder-for-hire of his boss Barry Van Treese in 1997.

But McDugle and Attorney General Gentner Drummond say Glossip did not get a fair trial due to multiple errors in the case and false testimony from the state's key witness.

Glossip's Execution has been delayed several times, and McDugle wants the governor to grant another 60-day stay, this time to give the U.S. Supreme Court time to review two new lawsuits filed in the case.

But the Governor said last week that he does not plan to delay the execution again.

McDugle is working to pass a law that says if the attorney-general asks for a conviction to be overturned, the court of criminal appeals would have to grant it. He says he wants to try and get the bill through before Glossip is executed, but acknowledges that will be difficult.

Meanwhile, Glossip's lawyers have filed to void his hearing with the pardon and parole board, which denied his clemency request in a 2-2 vote. Glossip's attorneys say the board should have replaced the fifth member, who recused himself, rather than having the hearing with a short-handed board.

Glossip is set to be executed on May 18th.
