Mustang Public Schools Teacher Arrested For Alleged Sex Crimes

Raymond Thomas Garner has worked for the district for 33 years before police arrested him for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with one of his students. 

Just last week a school resource officer was tipped off about this inappropriate relationship.  

“We are shocked, saddened and outraged with the allegations levied against our longtime employee’s today. We will continue to cooperate with our law enforcement partners during the investigation and work quickly on our internal investigation,” Mustang Public Schools Superintendent Charles Bradley said. 

Law enforcement say the victim, a former student, was able to share in detail the alleged inappropriate sex acts that transpired for years.

News 9 asked if the relationship went beyond the years the student was in high school as of now mustang police are in the early steps of this investigation, they did note this crime happened in multiple jurisdictions leading them to bring in the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

 “Mr. Garner is charged with multiple counts of first degree rape, lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child and forcible sodomy,” said Mustang Police Chief Robert Groseclose. 

The district says Garner was suspended today after being arrested this morning he sits in the Mustang City Jail. 

“We will have counselors available at Mustang High School for staff and students who may need to speak with someone,” said Bradley.
